History

Knowing our past helps us comprehend our present to create a more just future.

As we revise our understanding of past events, through asking new questions and including perspectives that have been silenced or ignored, we are able to build empathy for others. We can come to understand cultural traditions and patterns on their own terms (rather than within the framework that those in power have imposed).

How do we know what we know? Stories. Facts. Traditions. Artifacts. Perspectives. Interpretations. Where are the gaps in our understanding and how can we fill in the missing pieces of our shared narratives?
